great video, and great safety tips. question, the factory inserts are? screwed down, so how we prevent the zero clearance inserts from coming out of the table top if it’s not screwed down? i haven’t noticed any screws to hold them down on anywhere.

@odmcarp ,
Actually, very few inserts, including factory versions are screwed down. Their weight is more than enough to hold them in place, along with the wood on top of them during the cuts. My only concern with inserts is when guys make their own out of light weight material like thin plywood that really? has no weight to keep it down.

@thintz12 i just bought a ridgid? r4511 and it has 3 screws holding it down, even my old craftsman had two clips in the back and a screw in the front. i don’t think i would use an insert or anything near a blade spinning at high speeds and not have it secured. that’s just not safe. thanks fro the reply anyway.

I use Scotch 3m Heavy Duty Clear Mounting Tape #4010 tape as a extra precaution on the tabs to hold in the insert? once everything has been adjusted
