I made the base for my 8″ Inca saw table from 4 x 4 posts, 2 x 4 rails and a blockboard top. The platform for the 2.5 HP motor was also blockboard? and was hinged from one of the rails, with the belt supporting the other end. Instead of a flat belt, I used a V belt which the weight of the motor keeps in perfect tension, though the motor does try to climb up the belt a little when it starts!
